Within our After-school activities, last week the children visited Crystal Leisure Centre, where they had the opportunity to wind down at the end of the week and enjoy the swimming pool and slides. The overall response was outstanding and positive, all the children enjoyed themselves and it gave the opportunity for the children to build stronger relationships with one another. In addition, we had a new child join the club and they settled in with the group well and it was like they have known each other for years! This shows the friendships the children can build by meeting others at our after-school club! Unfortunately due to privacy reasons, we were unable to take any photographs of the children whilst they were there, however, they had a brilliant time! Later this month, we have the May Half Term, and we have organised several trips for the week and have had great success in filling all spaces we had! The trips for this half term include- Climbing at Telford Wrekin, Dance club at our Inclusion Centre, An overnight camping trip where the children will go and set up a campsite and enjoy a little break away, and a trip to a Waterworld which is a tropical indoor waterpark. All these trips show a range of different activities, which will engage the children and make their holidays more enjoyable! As mentioned earlier, all the spaces we had were allocated with 2 weeks remaining before the events!
Furthermore, behind the scenes at RUOE, there have been new employees joining the team within the Administration department- Satnam (image on the left) and Kelis (Images on the right). Both joined via the Government's scheme- Kickstart Scheme, helping 18-25 year olds find a job and starting their careers. Both employees started their roles at RUOE in late March and have settled down well into their job roles. Within their roles, their tasks goes from handling bookings for after school club and holiday club, to assisting our Media and Content Marketing Lead with marketing and media duties. These tasks are design to support both candidates to get essential transferable skills for their desired job role. Below their testimonials of their experience at RUOE so far: "Since I've joined RUOE, it has helped me improve my interpersonal skills and become more confident in working individually and as part of a team. Each day isn't the same and sometimes you need to take charge and work under your initiative to ensure tasks are completed to the best of your ability and meeting deadlines. It’s also helped me to become more organised and to manage time more effectively." - Satnam "I have seen that my I.T skills have improved as I have been able to use the skills I've learnt and put them into practice- such as learning and implementing ways to utilise social media more effectively and using software such as Canva to create professional content."- Kelis Keep and eye on our next Blog to get updates on the May Half Term programs.
