Last week was the May Half Term holidays for the children. Over the week, there were several trips planned each day and the feedback and response we received was phenomenal! Monday we had planned to go to Telford Wrekin, however, as it is all outdoors, and the weather wasn't on our side, with rain all day it meant unfortunately we had to cancel the event.
On the brighter side of things, the rest of the week went as planned, and on Tuesday the activity was the Cinemas. The children watched Boonie Bears and they had a fantastic time, and it was a relaxing activity rather than the physical activities they normally do. Moreover, on Wednesday and Thursday, the event was totally different, as the children went Camping at Beaudesert Activity Centre overnight. This for some children was their first experience and with doubts how they will cope, we are pleased to say that all children stayed the full day and night, and participated in an activity, Monkey Trees, the following morning. This came as a surprise for some parents who were worried how their children would react being away for the night, but they fought through and for some overcame a fear that they had. Whilst at camping, the children had the experience of putting up their tents which helped their team work, then blowing up their air beds for the night and even had a relaxing evening BBQ with great food and company with their peers. I can definitely say that the hot dogs went down a treat! Furthermore, Friday’s trip was to Waterworld in Stoke, which is an indoor tropical water park with slides and pools. This activity was a hit as each child loved it there and wished they could stay longer, even after being there half a day! This day probably was the best in the children's opinion and they definitely would like to go back in the future! Due to privacy reasons, we couldn't take any pictures whilst at Waterworld, but we assure you the children loved it! Overall, the holiday club week was an incredible experience as no 2 days were the same! Each day the activities varied using a range of skills for the children and as well as having relaxed days, they had a fun day at Waterworld. Keep your eyes peeled for the next set of activities in the summer holidays!
