WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO?
Reach and Unite Outreach and Empowerment (RUOE) provides a number of bespoke services that have been designed to support the physical, mental, emotional and social development of young people in Wolverhampton. Our aim is to remove barriers that lead to an unequal distribution of resources and opportunities that effect the wellbeing of young people and their families. The holistic approach we use is built upon the Dahlgren-Whitehead rainbow model that demonstrates that many health inequalities are determined by a number of social factors. We focus on the key determinants that affects health such as education, employment and social networks. We believe that early intervention is essential for families from disadvantaged backgrounds; who are most at risk of being affected by inequalities. We set out to create opportunities, support and empower young people and their families through a number of targeted outreach programs. |
