At RUOE, we understand how integral family is in a young person’s life, and that supporting families is key to supporting young people. Many of our programmes work closely with families to give their children the best support possible, tailored to that individual.
At RUOE we support families in a number of ways, whether it be sharing information, giving advice or raising awareness. We raise awareness of existing services that are able to support individual needs. Not only do we share this information, but we also signpost and refer to a number of these services to ensure that families are connected with relevant services. RUOE has helped families that have young people with behavioural issues by sharing our behaviour support plans that provide a number of strategies that encourage positive behaviour change. We work with a holistic approach, taking into consideration the whole person and the aspects that affect the wellbeing of families. We are strong believers of multi-agency working and information sharing where appropriate with schools, healthcare services and other professionals that may be involved.

We offer respite, one to one support, support groups and help to improve engagement for young people and healthcare services, education, training and work.
Our gang intervention team also host events for parents, carers, schools and professionals to raise awareness of gangs and exploitation. Our workers collaborate with families directly when mentoring young people. By discussing concerns and positive changes, our workers help young people to set personal goals and create bespoke care plans, which helps young people develop positive relationships with their families and those in their communities. |
We also offer free food parcels and hot food to families who need it, which has helped feed 52% of the families who work with us.
